The rich Tuscan soil produces the highest quality of Brunello grapes, and the wine-making culture  in Tuscany dates back to the Etruscans, when the wine god Bacchus reveled with his maenads on the slopes of Monte Amiata. Italians take their food and wine very seriously, and Tuscans especially enjoy a good red wine with their meals.
